THIS AUCTION IS FOR A CLASSIC SANSUI STEREO RECEIVER. THE MODEL IS 881. THIS SWEETHEART LOOKS SHARP AND SHAKES THE FLOOR! This vintage Sansui really packs a punch. It can accommodate up to Three Separate Pair of Speakers, and sports controls not only for the usual Bass and Treble bands, but for the Midrange as well. There are Individual High and Low filters and a 20 decibel Mute control. Another high end feature is the professional microphone input on a 1/4" jack with the accompanying Mic Level control. You can use this level control to easily mix your Mic signal with your Source material. The lighted radio dial, meters, and indicator lights, are all working. Around back are all the input/output jacks, extra large phono grounding terminal, and heavy duty cooling fins (all in great shape, none broken or chipped). Also present is a Voltage Selector and Protective System Fuse. As an added bonus, a 4-Channel Adapter (not included) may be accommodated in the Tape Monitor 2 in/out jacks, though I'm not clear how this is meant to work. Cosmetically, this Sansui looks impressive and is in good used condition. This means it looks nice, is not beat up, and shows normal signs of use commensurate with its age. There are no signs of abuse and nothing is missing or broken. The wood looks attractive and has no chips or scratches, just a little fading of the finish on top from the passing of time. Functionally, this beauty shines. I encountered no issues during testing and this amp sounds warm, full, and really packs a punch. Engaging the loudness button makes a difference you can actually feel without adding sonic mud to the low end like many lesser amps do. Moving the controls is a smooth affair and they all turn without producing static. Output is clear from both left and right channels. Note that the only jacks I was unable to test are the DIN Tape 1 jack as have no equipment (or the proper cable) to connect to it. I think some reel-to-reel machines had this type of jack. Tape 1 also has a set of standard RCA jacks and these were tested and work fine. Note that the phono jacks are also untested as my only remaining turntable has been out of commission for several months now (I have upward of 2000 records and no turntable - go figure...). I can see no reason why there should be any issues with either of these jacks, but I do need to mention my inability to test them.
