This fabulous cobalt blue bowl with pink magnolia was designed and hand decorated by Walter Moorcroft. His initials WM are clearly marked on the bottom as well as the impressed Moorcroft name. This is in beautiful condition and is highly collectable as an early example of Moorcroft art pottery. Walter's father established Moorcroft Art pottery, shortly after the turn of the century(1900). He was named art potter to the Queen in 1928. Walter took over the company mid40's and designed and decorated pieces until more recently when a design studio was established with the addition of many new young designers. Moorcroft has become the leading art pottery designer in today's market and pieces are becoming both more intricate and more highly in demand by collector's.
