Vintage Moser Bohemian Czech Gold Over Ruby Glass Decanter Set

This auction is for a vintage Bohemian ruby art glass decanter set with handpainted paste enamel dogwood flowers, berries and gild decor. This set is absolutely spectacular and can be a focal point in any room. The Victorian-style design on the decanter and glasses is just stunning. Portions of the gold decorations are done in a high polish finish and other parts are matte finish.

This set appears to have been cabinet-kept for most of its life. T is really no wear to the gold and all the blossoms and leaves are intact. I did not see any breakage or repairs on the decanter or on either of the five goblets.

The decanter features paste enamel flowers, heavy gold scrolls, applique and raised gilding on h eavy thick and deep rich ruby glass. Both decanter and stopper bear the number 21 in gold on the bottom. Stopper is free a damage. The ewer has a fluted opening and a gracefully styled handle. This pitcher is quite heavy weighing just about 3 lbs. Flowers on all sides, with the larger design being on the front and back. T is also a lattice-type design. The pitcher retains its original label and is a remarkable 17.25" tall (including stopper). Base is 4" in diameter. Inside is clean, no water, liquor or wine deposits or stains.

The glasses are in wonderful condition also. They stand 5.5" tall and are dripping in gold, flowers, scrolls and beading. Bowl is a little over 2.5" in diameter base is 2.25" in diameter. Three have labels inside the bowl, one has a label on the bottom and one does not have a label. The goblets have flowers on two sides and open scrollwork on the other two sides. Slight size and design variations exist in the glasses, which is quite common in old art glass. This does not detract at all.

T may be a few extremely light usage marks. It's really kind of hard to tell due to all the designs on this set.

This is a very old set, but exact age is unknown. A fantastic find and a very elegant set!
