Here is a vintage, beautifully inlaid cigarette box/case that holds 40 cigarettes. Bottom base of box measures about 6 7/8" wide and 5 1/4" deep, and 3 1/4" high. Cover opens up to reveal 4 tiered levels, each of which holds 10 cigarettes. The box has an incredibly detailed inlay design. It looks like some of the smaller pieces may be mother of pearl, but I am not certain. In any case, it has a beautiful design, but it does have some condition issues. I have shown pictures of the box from every angle, but will point out what I see wrong with it. On the front face of the box, on the left, there is a piece of wood missing in the upper left hand corner (picture 4). On the back face of the box, on the left hand side, there is a piece of the white/brown trim missing (pic 6), and on the right hand side there is a slight rise in the wood (barely noticible). The bottom is perfect with the original 4 legs. The top has a small crack on the left hand side in the brown wood area, and another very minute crack on the right hand side in the brown wood area. In the back right hand corner of the top of the inlay area, there is an area where the wood has split apart slightly (pics 5 and 8). There are a couple of dirty areas on the top.
