Up for auction is a Vintage Stoneware Bread Dough Bowl. Made by Mountainside Pottery, New Jersey. Measurements are as follows: 13 7/8" Long, 10 1/2" Wide, 3 1/2" High. Weighs approximately 6 pounds. Bottom has an impressed mark MP. From my research this mark is from the Mountainside Pottery in New Jersey. From what I've read of this pottery it was formed around 1929 and went out of business around the beginning of World War II. Looks like only in business during the years of the depression. It also has an embossed H inside the bowl which I have no idea of what it means. Has some glaze pops inside the bowl and a surface crack or crazing, does not go through, only surface. No chips or cracks, just glaze pops which you can see in pictures on inside of the bowl. I would venture to say this bowl may be rare, t is nothing on the internet I can find comparable. This is a nice old stoneware bread dough bowl and will make a very nice addition to anyone's stoneware collection or primative kitchen. Pictures should show details. Any Questions Ask. Shipping by USPS with insurance will be actual cost only. If you would like to know send me your zip code and I'll let you know. Good Luck.
