Vintage Munising Wooden Salad Bowl Set in orig Box This is a lovely vintage wooden salad set by Munising. The large salad bowl is 11 inch diameter with 3 wooden feet. Included is a large wooden spoon and fork about 10 inches long. T are 6 smaller (6 1/4 inch diameter) salad bowls. These are still in the original gift box and found at an Estate sale 60 yrs later. Each of the bowls is branded with the Munising name. The box is marked on top: âeoeMunising - The Greatest name in woodenware, 666 Lake Shore Drive, Chicago Ill.âe The box shows some wear on the corners but still in very good condition. I will pack this in a larger box to preserve the condition of it. These beautiful bowls were made from Michigan Sugar Maple and appear to have never been used. MINT condition. No signs of shelf wear either. As I knew Munising was in Michigan, I wondered about the Chicago address, & found a little more info on the website listed below. /woodenware/index.html "Once a piece was dried you could hardly turn it on a lathe", âe¦... âeoeSo the bowls were turned while green and dried later.âe (Thatâe(tm)s why they have a unique shape are not perfectly round).
