1968 Munro Bobby Hull Table Top Hockey Game
EXCELLENT Condition - RUST & DENT FREE! FLAT Playing Surface 's a Blast From Your Past! This is a 1968 Munro Bobby Hull table top hockey game. It's in Excellent overall condition. This model was made by Munro and sold by Sears. This was the Mercedes Benz of the Munro table hockey game lineup in the mid to late 60's. Displayability You will find nothing more than minimal wear and tear and paint loss on the playing surface. Take a good look at the pictures because they do a nice job of showing just how gorgeous this game really is. Paint chipping along the slots is minimal. The playing surface will knock your socks off. The lack of wear and tear makes me think this game wasn't played with very much. The playing surface is completely original, yet shines like new and is almost perfectly FLAT still, more than 40 years after it was made! Unlike most games of this vintage, the wing slots are not warped and game play is what it should be...fast and furious! The metal frame is in Excellent condition for its age! It's 100% RUST and DENT FREE. The original paint and graphics look very, very nice as you can see! The paint is bright and vivid and paint loss is minimal and confined mainly to the edges. The graphics are modest by table hockey game standards, but the Bobby Hull name says it all. This is truly a classic and a well sought after game. Playability This 41 year old table hockey game plays almost as good as it did when it was new! It all starts with the nearly FLAT playing surface. Thesegames would warp in the wing areas over time, but that has not happened on this game. The wingplayers slide effortlessly back and forth in their slots without binding up against the playing surface as do all the players. Underneath the table, the player control mechanisms work very nicely, again, almost as good as new. Munro Toys made the best quality table hockey games in the day and the metal gears still work like new! Rod action is straight and smooth. Nothing is missing, or cracked or broken and nothing needs to be replaced. T is NO RUST on the bottom of the metal frame. Accessories The original plastic nets are in Mint condition! Each net is completely free of breaks and cracks in the netting and in the plastic frame. Both nets come complete with all of their plastic tabs that attach to the playing surface. The automatic puck ejectors work as designed. The tin men representing the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs are in very good game-used condition . All but a couple of the tin men are perfectly straight, paint loss is minimal, and each of the tin men is RUST-FREE! The original scoreboard is in good condition. The plastic frame had a crack which has been repaired. It stands sturdily above the playing surface. The automatic puck drop works every time. The original "electric" goal lights still work when you score a goal. Take a look at the picture. You'll need a pair of D size batteries along with a pair of low voltage flashlight bulbs. Note: the red bulbs seen in the pictures are not included in this auction. The four game legs swing down allowing you to elevate the game a few inches above the table top if desired. All four yellow puck flippers are included. The original puck is included as are all of the rubber rod tips that you hold on to, to control the players.
