RARE! Vintage Murano V.A.M.S.A. ALFREDO BARBINI - ca 1942 This offering features an amazing, possibly unique, freeform low bowl made by Alfredo Barbini at V.A.M.S.A. around 1942. A wonderful, soft modelling of green grapes and a grape leaf embedded into a clear base glass infused with the microscopic veil of bubbles that was the signature of Barbini at V.A.M.S.A. I regard this piece as being every bit as desirable as the fishnet piece shown in "IL VETRO DI MURANO ALLE BIENNALI 1895-1972" on page 51, one of which I sold on ebay for over $3,000. about 10 years ago. It is fabulous, and it is not an ashtray, unless you decide to make it one! The piece is large and heavy at about 7 inch diameter by 3 inches high, and about 1 inch thick. Condition is excellent, with no damage, repairs, or unusual wear. This item carries a modest reserve, and a Buy It Now price of $750. . We offer fixed price shipping at a cost of $20.00 in the US for this item. International Shipping is available at a fixed price that will be determined based on the value and destination. We do not attempt to profit from shipping costs. Please wait for an invoice before using either Auctiva or Ebay checkout. Payment for this auction is by PayPal only, per the current Ebay requirement.
