Up for auction is a vintage 14K gold cast finger ring set with square cut cab turquoise stone. This is a size 7.5 ring hallmarked with an impressed: 14K (see Pic #2-if you need a better view, let me know and I will email you one...this is not the best shot possible & it's upside down, sorry) and further marked in script: H.M.- K.K., and dated 4-3-83 I believe. It has a total weight of 6g on a digital scale prior to packing. It is a 'thick' walled ring with a tapered band styling that measures 3/8" wide at center front and moves down to about 1/8" wide at center back. The ring has a good round overall shape...at the back center in this casting t is a 'brittle/fracture' which does not seem to be all the way through and does not interfere with the wearability (which eventually may need some re-solder work); it is not a show stopper, just important to mention and provide a picture for your review, please see pic #3. This ring is set with a gorgeous medium bright sky blue (with a slight smoke-ish or cloud like matrix of a lighter white-blue) turquoise stone. The cut is a 8mm (5/16") square cab with a slight curvature across the top...this crown (looking to have been handcut & well polished) barely rises above the casting of the ring. The stone does not fit 'perfectly' into the opening but very, very close. It looks like the metalsmith used a type of solder to fill in the tiny outer edge creavices (which can be seen with a loupe or in the large photos below...to the (my) naked eye it looks pretty good. The casting has the 'same' design, done in opposing directions, set on either side of the stone and they look to be a double rain clouds set inside of a whirlwind design...and if this piece is not Native American made, it certainly was inspired by them. A stone of striking color set in yellow gold...I think rather fabulous with its certain kind of beauty and incredibly balanced design, any interest? The low opening is to stimulate auction action and is in no way an indication of the quality or condition of this piece, I promise...and if you are looking for scrap...this is worth at least $60. in gold so please feel free to bid early and often :)!! Please see photos for design, style and condition. I find it in wonderful and very wearable condition with many years of wear left in it just as is, uncleaned, without problems -- the above-described brittle shank at the center back I do not necessarily consider a 'problem'. Not brand new, yet very, very nice and a bit unusual! U.S. Buyers ship USPS with Insurance and Delivery Confirmation services for $4.55. International Buyers I will ship to your confirmed address via Registered Air Letter with Return Receipt ($9.75) plus actual postage which covers insurance and confirms delivery to you. If you prefer less costly shipping, please contact me prior to auction's end to determine available delivery options to your location. I will gladly combine shipments at no additional cost whenever possible and safe to do so should any of my other items other items be of interest. Happy to answer questions and send photos, just ask. Have fun!
