This South American doll was manufactured by Joao Perotti, a former Lenci employee. He created his own doll company in South America, making detailed felt dolls, using his skills from his Lenci days. This doll measures about 21", not including the headdress and about 23" with the headdress. This wonderful doll appears to be in original condition, wearing a colorful felt native costume; red, yellow, gold, orange, light blue and medium blue. The doll's costume is very detailed with felt flowers adorning the headdress, red & yellow felt intertwined in its black silk floss braids. The doll wears a beaded necklace, as well as a rosette trim that drapes on the torso. There are two armlets; one is felt and the other is fluffy, possibly wool or mohair. The same are on the ankles. The doll wears open moccasin type sandals. There is a remnant of an import tag on the sole of the right foot. You can see, despite some moth wear, some typical Perotti eye paint loss, and aging, this doll retains its ability to be the center of any doll collection. This rare doll is in overall good to very good condition. Free shipping within the USA . Outside the USA, Express International shipping is extra.
