Approximately 40 years ago a small clothing specialty store (no longer exists) in our town found a bunch of these old football and baseball players and animals and made them into necklaces. The hot dogs I don't think are old and I am not sure about the chain, although it looks old. I added silvery chain to make it right for my daughter but that can be removed. The original necklace length is about 16". The players are marked Japan and I think they and the bulldog and goat are from the thirties, or maybe late twenties, but if I had to choose, I'd say thirties since my brother used to get those old charms out of vending machine that are reminiscent of the goat and bulldog. They are meant to be mascots but of what team, I don't know. The goar has a "N" on it. A friendly eBayer says the goat is the Naval Academy mascot and the bulldog is Yale's. Thank you, Marla!
