VINTAGE NELSON McCOY PELICAN PLANTER

Up for your bidding consideration is this vintage NELSON McCOY PELICAN PLANTER { this has the NM mark incised on the bottom }. This fellow is done in a high gloss sky blue glaze with black & red cold paint highlights for his eyes, mouth and feet { cold paint is 95% intact }. Any white spots in the photos are just light glare. He measures 5 1/8" tall x 7 1/2" long. He is in very good health with no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. This piece dates to the 1940's and an example of him can be found in the McCOY POTTERY VOLUME 1 COLLECTOR'S REFERENCE & VALUE GUIDE by HANSON, NISSEN & HANSON on page 135. Fall is and this old fellow would like to take care of that favorite Herb or plant for you. This is a wonderful vintage piece that will make a welcome addition to your NM collection.
