This is a great lot of vintage and newer karat gold jewelry. Almost all of the pieces are wearable, only a couple are not. Total weight without the pendant of Mary and Jesus is 24 grams. I didn't want to weigh it with the pendant even though the bale and frame are gold because it would have greatly affected the weight. Since we're already talking about the necklace, I'll start with it. It's newer and has a Mervyn's tag attached. It is marked 585 on the clasp and JCM 14K on the flat part that fits into the clasp. Pendant says, "God couldn't be everyw and tfore He made mothers." Faux ? pearl earrings are not marked but tested as 14K. I don't know much about pearls so I really don't know what to tell you about these except they have a kind of iridescent finish and flat backs. Condition is great for these and the pendant. Scrap chain that's in bad shape is marked 14KT ITALY and OR in a heart shape. Screwback earrings are vintage and marked BDA 10K. Again, I do not know about the pearls and assume they are faux. Beautiful Victorian or Art Nouveau pin with pearls and rubies or some other gem (tested as gems but my gem tester doesn't always indicate the proper gem) is marked 10K and just needs the pin stem re-attached. Belly ring ? with clear stone marked 10K. Pair of handcuffs charm or pendant is marked 14K. Bale or loop need to be pushed together but okay other than that. Fraternity/Sorority key not marked as to metal content but tested as 10K. Dated 1932 and marked as being from Bucknell. Is this Sigma Phi or something like that? Wonderful dangly fringe earrings for pierced ears are marked 14K ITALY on the posts. They look like all aspects are karat gold but I'm not sure about that. "G" charm or pendant marked 14K. Pierced hoop earrings marked OR (heart shape) 10K on wires. Victorian or Edwardian baby ring marked OB 10K, beautiful condition and just so sweet. Ring with topaz ? or other gemstone and single diamond (tested) marked WEISFIELD 14KP which I used to think meant plated but have now learned means "plumb" so this is karat gold. One diamond is missing. Pierced earrings with clear glass stones marked 10KT on posts with other initials before that but I can't read them. Vintage ? puffed heart charm or pendant has worn mark, I think, on the heart itself but I can't read it at all. It tested as 14K. The only items that need work or are totally scrap are those which I described as such. I did not test items that were clearly marked. Please keep in mind that stones and pearls add a bit to the weight but. Again, I removed the pendant for weighing the lot. More gold lots coming in the future. It provides you, however, with a way of tracking the progess of your package. We take great care in packaging and mailing your purchases but we can't be responsible for the actions of the USPS.
