This is a vintage R-10 End-of-car destination rollsign. The R-10s were built in 1948 by American Car & foundry- a total of 400 were built. The last of these cars was retired from passenger service in 1989. These cars originally started out with black cloth signs with white lettering - similar to the ones found in the R-9s, ABs, etc. However, the Transit Authority made the switch to a more durable material - mylar. This is a replacement sign, but is 100% authentic New York Subway memorabilia. The lettering is still printed in white, and mylar will not tear nearly as easily. This sign would be found above the front door of each and every car. When we say it's from an R-10, you can be sure that's what it's from! This sign shows the different destinations of the B Division of the Subway - the lettered subway lines. This sign was never used in a car and is brand new. Please see the photos. The rollsign measures 19 inches wide x about 12 feet long. T are eight destination readings on this sign, and they are as follows:

Again, this sign is a replacement sign made for the NYCTA and is 100% authentic. It is in awesome condition. This would be a great addition to your bar or restaurant, dorm room, den, etc. It makes a unique gift that you definitely can't buy at Sears or Target (leave the wife a hint LOL).
