Up for consideration is a Vintage hand-painted teapot, creamer and sugar set made by the Takito Company. These pieces are marked with Takito's mark of T T set in diamonds. The sugar is also marked Made in Nippon; the teapot and the creamer are marked Made in Japan. Pieces marked Nippon were generally produced between 1891-1921; pieces marked Japan were generally produced from 1921-1944. This indicates that the sugar is somewhat older than the teapot and the creamer. This set is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or flea bites. The sugar stands 3 1/2 " tall and has no lid; the creamer also stands 3 1/2 " tall; the teapot is 5 1/2 " tall including its lid. The color is a carnation pink with white cranes and gold accents. Cranes are symbols of happiness and good fortune in the Japanese culture. This pattern has also been seen in blue and white which is more common. The pink pieces are rarely seen. This beautiful set would certainly dress up a Mother's Day, Baby Shower or Bridal Shower table and is a true find. A must for collectors of Nippon or Pink items!
