Joe Messer started production in the fall of 1952 in Bowman, North Dakota. He started in his father in law's chicken coop. He made his own potters wheel and other tools that he needed needed for production. He also made his own molds. He used Imported clay from Pennsyvania for porcelain production.Pretty soon he took over the whole chicken coop.
