This is a simply gorgeous Northwest Chinook native basket. It measures 5" tall and 11.5" wide. This comes from the Columbia river in Washington State. The colors and details in the weave are spectacular!!!!!!!!!!!. It is woven with twisted twine braided around water reids, and the colors are dyed with the local berries. My mother worked for the Alaskan Federation Of Natives for twenty five years, She often travelled outside of Alaska to meet with Elders and the Native people on conferences. She was given this Chinook basket by Marie Bellows while in the state of Washington on conference in 1972. I will include a photo copy of Marie. This wonderful basket is in mint condition, As my mother kept all of her collections in glass cases.................... I have not put a reserve hoping only knowledgable and serious bidders will prevail............................ PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT MY OTHER AUCTIONS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I WOULD BE HAPPY TO COMBINE SHIPPING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
