Vintage Norway Krumkake/Krumkaka Christmas Cookie Iron + 7 RECIPES

Up for auction is an older Nordic Ware stove-top krumkake ( krumkakke)iron made of cast aluminum. It also has wooden heat-proof handles. This Krumkake iron has 2 parts--the ring that fits over your stove burner and the patterned iron in which you place the batter for the Krumkake. The two-handle cookie iron sits atop the metal base. A knob on the iron sits atop a burner base and swivels on the burner base so both sides can be heated evenly. The base sits over the burner on your stove.

In days gone by, the cook would wrap these delicate cookies around a broom handle while they were still warm. I purchased this particular iron at a Minnesota garage sale, so I don't have the original box or the original recipe book that went with it. My cousin, however, is Norwegian. Her church is in a small town in Iowa w the residents are primarily Norwegian. Members of the church created a cookbook in 1978 with a whole chapter on Norwegian cooking. The cooks submitting recipes have last names like:Anderson, Larson, Nelson and Swenson. I will send 7 recipes from that Norwegian church cookbook if you are the winning bidder. I accept Paypal, money orders, cashiers checks, and personal checks (held 10 days). Paypal offers several payment methods including e-checks. E-checks must wait for verification by Paypal. You can pay directly into my Paypal account or use your credit card. Personnal checks must clear before I send your item. (To speed your order, use a money order or Paypal.) I accept payment in US dollars only, not foreign currency. If you are from a country other than the ones listed on this auction, please contact me before bidding.

Instead of a flat fee, most postage costs are dependant on your zip code and package weight. This helps keep YOUR postage costs lower! I do not make money on your postage costs. T is only a small fee for a padded envelope or packaging---my cost. Insurance is optional, but cost effective on breakable items. It's your choice. I will send books media rate unless you specify otherwise. Media rate is the most cost effective, but takes a bit longer. Magazines cannot be sent media rate because of the advertising. Our post office checks media rate items. If you want your item quickly, parcel post, priority or First class are options.

Foreign (non USA) postage rates are higher for obvious reasons. If you are from another country, please do not ask me to be dishonest about the value of your purchase for the sake of your customs costs. Also, I do not sell to Asia except for Japan, and I only take Paypal from foreign countries-NO foreign money orders and NO bank transfers.
