I have other Vintage Items Posted and I'll be posting more Vintage, signed and unsigned pieces I've picked up and from my personal collection
This Lil' Viking Ship is a d LIGHT ful Piece and comes from the Living Estate of Irene! Irene collected Jewelry and like items for many of her 80 Plus Years! Irene Used this as Open Trinket Box...which I guess means a Trinket Bowl or sorts that she used to put Jewelry in: ) But she and a friend of mine thought it might be an Open Salt Bowl or Salt Cellar. So I did some research and the Mark is from the Artist Theodor Olsens Eftf of Bergen, Norway. It's Very Detailed with Five Shields and Two Serpent or Dragon Heads. T is a Darkened Layer over the Metal, a good amount of it has come off during the years to expose the Warm Sterling Silver beneath. : ) The Glass is Rich, Deep Cobalt Blue and it's Thick and Well Made, It has a Mouth Blown Look to it, It might very well be Blown Glass. The Glass is also a wonderfully Mid Century Modern Flow to the Glass Shape. The inside under the Glass has a Gold Wash and you can see it's Mark from the Inside as it was made to Sport that way because the Bottom is in Reverse. : ) Signed, "Norway 925 S Sterling" and it also Sports the Artist Mark... Please see pictures. : ) The Items Measures just about 3 ½" Long and I copied some information on the Markers Mark, "The seven dots in the circle represent the seven hills that surround the city of Bergen - they are also found on the old Bergen city silver mark, itself taken from the municipal arms." Shipping is 5.50 and. Insurance is always optional. Please keep in mind that vintage Items and jewelry is pre owned and rarely out of the box perfect and one should expect some wear. I leave any cleaning of Vintage Jewelry to the person that might like to make it a home. : ) I'll be sure to note anything I see to be an issue as in excessive wear, missing or turned stones or any noted repairs that I can see but please feel free to ask any questions. Thank you for taking a look : )
