By the Artist Raymond Peynet "The Lovers" or "Les Amoureux" ~RARE, ADORABLE & CHARMING~ In the 1960's when Mama was in Denmark she purchased this ashtray/dish. The brand is Nymolle, Art Faience and the artist was the very well known and popular French artist Raymond Peynet, who had been with Rosenthal until 1965. Peynot was one of the most popular illustrators of France with over 6000 of his pictures of "The Lovers" published, His was a household name in the 50's and 60's. Today, his work is difficult to come by, even on the net. This item is in mint condition, never used No cracks, chips, crazing Measures 3-3/4" x 5" Artist signed Numbered The pottery is Faience From Copenhagen, Denmark This piece is really in remarkable condition. Mama never used it ~ she just had it out for display. A wonderful and rare addition to your collection... We wish for all of our auctions to be pleasant for al l.
