ORIGINAL " VINTAGE PRIMITIVE OAK Wooden Bucket with Cover & Bow Handle - The Oak is about 3/16" thick ! Nice Old Rick Patina to the Wood ! Fine Example of the 1800`s COOPERSMITH`s CRAFT ! Nice Primitive item for our collection or Display ! Top band is held on with WOODEN nails (Shoe pegs) Bucket bands with clenched handmade square nails ! You can feel the hand drawshave surfaces on sides,top & bottom !Carrying Bow pegs have wooden pegs ! A part time job for people during this era was to whittle Shoe Pegs ! I belive out of oak or Hickory rthat were sold to Cobblers a source of extra Income ! We use to have an Old Cobblers bench in our attic with a small drawer full of Shoe Pegs That Belonged to my (4) Gr.Grandfather ! Used for Storing Food in the Early Homes of our Country ! Use & Wear is evident on the inside as seen in pictures! Coopersmith`s tool marks ! Very nice Condition ! Abt. 8 " Tall x 11 " Dia. Low Starting Price ! $10 handling fee !
