This plane has two bodies, each with its own blade. Length of each body is approximately 9.5", width of each body is approximately 1.25", height of each body is approximately 3.5" On the rear end of the plane the name "J.T.SUIT" is stamped on both plane bodies – see pictures. On the front end of the plane the name "D.R.SALLEE" is stamped on both plane bodies – see picture. It is assumed these are the names of previous users. On the front end of the plane is also stamped "OHIO TOOL CO" and the number 131 – see pictures. The Ohio Tool Company was founded in 1823 though the name was not firmed up until incorporation in 1851 and then in 1893 they merged with the Auburn Tool Co. The Columbus branch of the company used prison labor from the Ohio State Penitentiary from 1841 to 1880. Considering that it could be over one hundred years old this plane is in remarkably good condition. The two bodies are positioned relative to one another by a wooden dowel at each end – I did not try to separate them. This item may be shipped partially disassembled to reduce shipping cost. FOREIGN BIDDERS NOTE – I WILL SHIP ONLY TO ADDRESSES IN THE UNITED STATES. Shipping will be by USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.
