Vintage Oil Painting F.E Jamieson (1895-1950) Scottish Loch with Castle and Mountains This is a classic example from this most competent and prolific artist whose love of Scotland enabled him to paint these wonderful scenes, straight from the heart. 1895-1950 Francis E Jamieson who was an English painter, after a holiday to the highlands of Scotland became obsessed with painting highland landscapes. He became one of the most prolific artists of thetime.Jamieson is believed to have painted under eleven different artist names so he could sell more of his paintings undetected by his employers, some including;McGregor,Graham Williams,Henry Stewart,Hb Davis,W RichardsThere are other pseodonyms that include Stanley Penn. The popularity of Jamieson remains strong to this day and his canvases are in great demand. The painting is in good condition save for a tiny piece of damage to the right of the mountain which will be professionally restored, included in the price.
