Old Mexican Silver Rosary. Totally hand crafted, ca. 1970's. This rosary was made in Mexico in the 1970's. This wonderful rosary is an authentic piece of art by itself. This amazing piece was crafted in the Mexican workshops which are famous for their great quality in the manufacture of this kind of jewelry. It has a rich cultural background like that of the Mexican traditions. It is known that the silver of Mexico is internationally recognized for its purity and extraordinary artistic qualities. In all the workshops, silversmith was almost entirely done by hand. This rosary is made entirely of silver wire and silver torched wire. The beads and the cross are made all of torched wire which was then twisted in spiral to create this shapes. They are all joined together by silver circles. The heart which is in the middle of it and the circle of the cross were moldered and then soldered in this piece. This is a really naïve work. An incredible amount of handwork was invested in this sterling piece. It measures: 23 ½ in. and from the heart to the cross: 4 7/8 in. Unfortunately it is not marked, but we warrantee it to be of silver. It weights: 21.5 gr. Look at the photos so you can detail it. This piece is in good vintage condition, it has only some minor surface scratches and dents common to any worn vintage piece. Look at the photos so you can detail it.
