This auction features an older, vintage PHRENOLOGY Head or Bust by L.N. Fowler. We purchased it from an antique store about 25 years ago and are unsure of its exact age. It measures about 10 3/4 inches tall and 4 3/4 inches wide at the base. One side reads, "L.N. FOWLER 337 STRAND LONDON" and the other side is "ENTERED AT STATIONERS HALL." The back reads, "For thirty years I have studied Crania and living heads from all parts of the world, and have found in every instance that t is a perfect corresondence between the confirmation of the healthy skull of an individual and his known charateristics. To make my observations available I have prepared a Bust of superior form and marked the Organs in accordance with my researched and varied experience. L. N. Fowler" Thes old ones are very hard to find! It does have quite a bit of age crazing to the glaze and a small age or factory spot on the front. No chips, cracks or dings.
