A marvelous Santo Domingo bowl from an old New Mexico collection! Also, see our 4 baskets from the same collection! Vintage Old Santo Domingo Pueblo Native American Handcoiled Outdoor Fired Indian Pottery Bowl with beautiful patina .... Circa 1940's .... No Reserve
This vintage Santo Domingo bowl comes from the estate of an avid collector of Native American art and artifacts. We believe it is circa 1940's. This bowl has a beautiful patina, and was obviously used by the maker or a relative before it was added to this collection in the 60's. It has the name "Barbara C. Garcia" etched into it in three places (see pictures). The paint is worn on one side from use (see pictures). T are some additional scratches, but no cracks or chips. The design is classic Santo Domingo and the color is still vibrant. It has a spirit line on the rim. Excellent example of a functional Santo Domingo bowl from the 40's. It measures 6" in diameter, 2.8" tall with a 18.8" circumference . As was customary in the 1940's, the bottom is unsigned. Please contact us if you have any additional questions.
