Old Taxco School Mexican Turquoise and Silver Bird Pin. Really Amazing, ca. 1970âe(tm)s. This beautiful piece is made out in the shape of a bird. T were some pieces of silver jewelry which were made using natural motifs as inspiration, like this amazing example. This pin was crafted in the 1970âe(tm)s, in the Taxco workshops who were famous for their great quality in silversmithing. It is known that the silver of Taxco is internationally recognized for its purity and extraordinary artistic qualities. In all the workshops, silversmith was almost entirely done by hand. It is composed of two parts which were moldered and joined together by soldering. It was hand finished. The pin has a turquoise inlaid in silver forming the eye of the bird. The central part of it has also chiseling and is full of details. The pin is in perfect working condition. The stone also is in perfect condition. This is a really beautiful work. It measures: 3 5/8 X 1 in . It is fully marked as follows: SILVER, MADE IN MEXICO . It weights: 19.7 gr. This piece is in excellent vintage condition, it has only some minor surface scratches and dents common to any worn vintage piece. Look at the photos so you can detail it.
