THIS AUCTION OFFERING FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION IS A BEAUTIFUL OLD VINTAGE ITALIAN VENETIAN BLUE WEDDING CAKE GLASS BEADS NECKLACE* EXCELLENT CONDITION * KNOTTED * ORIGINAL FINDINGS * MID LAST CENTURY IN AGE OR OLDER * ADJUSTABLE LENGTH 14 1/2" TO 17" LONG LENGTH & DETAILS: these are gorgeous beads that measure on average 15mm's (just over 1/2") diameter with some a bit smaller and some a bit larger--since they are handmade beads they are not completely uniform with each bead being slightly different than every other. These are the classic wedding cake bead styling with pink roses and small freeform flowers made up of blue/white swirl dots with a yellow dot center. T are glittering golden aventurine bands around the middle and aventurine ribbons on either side of the bands. I do not know if the necklace has been restrung or is the original stringing but everything looks in excellent vintage condition: the knotting is nicely done and the ends are finished off with bead tips, the brass bead caps all have a slightly darkened patina but still have a nice golden color, the extender chain shows very little wear though it has developed a darkened patina. The end bead on the extender is a color matched Sommerso bead. You will love this beautiful and highly collectible vintage Italian wedding cake bead necklace. CONDITION: Excellent: the aventurine is still bright and glittering, much nicer than my photographs can show. I don't see any chipping or cracking to the beads or to their decoration--they are in beautiful condition. The necklace is ready to wear and enjoy.
