RARE VINTAGE OPAQUE SWIRL SLAG Art Glass SYRUP HANDLED JUG CREAM PITCHER EXC NR Description This auction is for a fabulous Vintage Opaque Slag Glass Handled Jug . The size suggests it could be a syrup or cream pitcher. The Slag is created by a swirled color combination of amber, caramel, and milk glass . The body has a pressed glass pattern consisting of alternating oblong and triangular shapes that are created by a pattern of pressed hour glass shaped lines throughout. The neck of the piece is encompassed by a raised triple ring pattern . The opening is highlighted by a pulpit style flared rim . The slag glass arching handle is hand-applied to the jug . This piece does not bear a manufacturer's or maker's mark . It has characteristics, expecially the rim, that suggests it may be a Fenton piece, however, it is difficult to research their unmarked items. I welcome any comments from the more expert glass collectors that may be able to provide me with more information to post for interested buyers . MEASUREMENTS The piece is approximately 5 1/2" tall measuring from the pedestal base to the tallest point of the flared rim. The piece is approximately 5" wide at its widest point measuring from the outermost edge of the handle to the point of the spout. The diameter of the base is 2 1/2".
