Offered at auction , at NO RESERVE, is a Nice ORIGINAL VINTAGE 8" x 10 1/8" Male Nude Photographic Print, Semi- Glossy Finish, on SINGLE WEIGHT paper. This Print was taken by EARLE FORBES, likely in New York City, in the Early 1940's. I believe this to be an ORIGINAL Photo. It has beautiful lustre and Finish. I know for a fact this photo is AT LEAST 50 years old! The Muscled Model is "CHARLES WHITLOCK" . He was a bodybuilder and Model in the early 1940's. He Placed THIRD in the Most Muscular Division, in the 1949 " Mr. New York City" Contest. ( Please View ALL IMAGES of this Print in the Listing Photos). CONDITION: This print is in Great, NEAR MINT Condition. It was found inside a Vintage " Kodak Photographic Paper Box from the 1940's/1950's. For over 45 years, and not until recently, has this photo seen the light of day! T are a few Very Slight Wrinkle Dimples and t T is a " 7 " shaped Slight Crease, extending from Model's Right Elbow to the Right Border of the Photo. A sliver of Model's Hair was missed in the development of this Vintage Photo back in the 1940's. The Minor Condition noted issues do NOT DETRACT in any way from the photo. The Lustre is simply beautiful on this one! A VERY NICE VINTAGE PHOTO for any Male Physique Photo Collection !! BACKGROUND INFORMATION ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER: Earle Forbes was a prolific photographer in New York City, in the 1940's -1950's. He photographed celebrities and was a Staff Photographer for some of the most widely read Male Fitness Magazines of the day. His early photographic studies of the Ted Shawn " Denishawn" Dance Group, earned him national recognition. Forbes photographed countless male bodybuilders, weightlifting champions, title holders, and physique models. Many of his photos were Published in " Your Physique " and " Strength & Health " , from that period. Although Forbes usually photographed his models in the nude, posing straps were painted on the photos that were published. Throughout his career, Forbes used a simple " Kodak " Brownie camera. Given its limitations, his photos often lack clarity. One of the advantages he had with his camera is that he was able to take many more indoor/outdoor photos and of many more subjects than alot of his competition. Unlike many of his fellow photographers of the day, like " Lon of New York" , " Bruce of L.A." and " Al Urban", Forbes Did NOT offer prints of his work for sale to the Public.
