Stand out from the rest with this stunning genuine original 1950’s/1960’s black leather Suzy Smith formal Kelly handbag. Fashion is fleeting; style is forever. We have for sale a genuine original 1950s/1960’s black leather and suede Suzy Smith formal Kelly hand bag with goldtone frame, in absolutely magnificent condition. The bag has a suede interior. There are some small ballpoint marks on the interior where a pen has been put into the bag. They are insignificant but could be easily removed. The metalic frame has some light scratching signifying normal wear. Both the catch and the internal pouch zip work well. It measures approximately 11 inches by 8 inches. This style of bag was originated by Hermes and carried by, and named after the legendary Grace Kelly. It was a handbag of this style that Mrs Thatcher used to keep her troops (and the EU) in order! This is stylish vintage not vintage style! The Suzy Smith brand was started in the late 1950’s and continues to this day, albeit by a different manufacturer. The goldtone frame bears a circular stamp inscribed ELBIEF England, a Birmingham based company that produced metallic products for handbags from the 1930’s to the early 1960’s. This sensibly dates the bag to the late 1950’s or 1960’s. It was totally 'Made in England'! We have quoted for economy tracked postage. They may have been first worn many years ago in a different age. But they are a document from that age and may be worn again in another one hundred years.
