Offered here is an original brass canister for calcium carbide, that would have been attached to a vintage automobile such as a Ford Model A or Model T. Measures 13.0" tall with a 7.25" diameter mounting bracket at bottom Appears that all interior parts are present, including the carbide screen. Stress cracks visible on sides, that could be soldered closed. Wing nuts at sides move and work easily. I am not an expert on automobilia, but have seen canisters like this on vintage vehicles that would have been used for the first headlamps. Thanks for looking!
