Offered for auction is this neat old vintage antique original " MILLS ORNDORFF " MILITARY CARTRIDGE / AMMO BELT . Sorry, but we do NOT have the Buckle. Made of a light tan, brown colored heavy canvas material, with brass metal accessories, and has three dark brown horizontal stripes running through the 36 individual shell loops. Not certain, but believe the shell loops are for .30 caliber / 30-40 ? Krag / 30-06 ? ammunition ( 45-70 shell will fit, but it's pretty tight). Both brass ends are marked; MILLS & ORNDORFF - (Patent Dates; both stampings are off-centered to the left so the month portion of the three dates in the left column are not on the end) . 26:67 - . 31:77 - . 28:80 - (right column) MAR. 19:89 - OCT. 31:93 - SEPT. 11:94 . One of the ends has a large black " 7 " just above the brass (see photo below). Belt measures approximatley 45" to 46" in total length (including the looped over portions on both ends. Measures 33" in length as shown in the photos below, 2 1/4" wide, and 3/16" to 1/4" in thickness. Condition, considering its age, is good to very good. Shows overall general wear and soiling from use, storage and handling, with some areas of fading and staining, tarnish to the brass, and a few loose threads and t, but no rips, tears or other damage that we can see .
