A 1940s vintage Oris / Siro mechanical handwinding wristwatch. Mid - size so suitable for Men or Women. In good cosmetic condition and keeping very good time. Stainless steel expanding strap fitted. Siro were a sub-brand of Oris ( Oris backwards ) and were the result of the draconian restrictions the Swiss authorities put on Oris in the 40s, 50s and 60s ( They were not allowed to make lever wristwatches ). The consequence of this is that Oris became experts in making highly accurate pin pallet wristwatches that were more accurate than the jewelled ( more expensive ) lever watches made by the other Swiss brands. This Siro dates from this remarkable period. The watch case has an overall diameter of 30mm. Will post to the UK, USA, Canada, EU and Japan only. Check out my other items !
