This is a quality item that is from a local estate sale that is apparently a very early and ornate piano stool with four legs. 2. This item is height adjustable and has the typical metal claw feet with the round glass inserts that are from around 1900 and likely earlier. 3. This item appears to be made of solid mahogany wood. 4. The top is approx 14 1/2âe dia and is approx 1 1/8âe thick and the distance from leg to leg is approx 19âe at the floor. 5. This is one of the nicest piano stools we have seen in many years and it is from a well known manufacturer. MARKINGS : 1. This item has cast wording on the metal elevating mechanism that says: "... LYON & HEALYâe¦CHICAGO...". 2. Founded in 1864, Lyon & Healy has been a world renowned manufacturer of high quality harps since 1889. CONDITION : as shown in the photos 1. This item shows some aging and some crazing of the original finish. We provided one photo of the finish that also shows a small scratch and a white paint drip. 2. The stool portion has a small section of wood that has chipped off from the underside edge. 3. The elevating mechanism works properly. 4. The glass feet have flat spots that are approx 1/2âe dia (made that way ? or just from normal wear over the years?).
