Vintage Orrefors Glass etched Shark large vase Beautiful clear glass vase. Monumental in size. Nicely engraved shark design with swirling water and bubbles. We believe it to be from the 30s or later. Please see my other auctions for more vintage and collectible Art Glass and Crystal. Measures: 10" tall by 6 3/4" across at widest (4" across base) Marked: none found (although not marked we believe this to be a later modified version from a series of vases done by Orrefors as a collaboration between Vicke Lindstrand and Emil Goldman in the early 30s, a similar vase and notes related to the series metioning a shark hunter can be found in the book Scandanavia: authored by Jennifer Opie on page 128 fig. 463, the undulating lines of this vase and the base are very similar to the one pictured although not as tall) Condition: very good(no chips or cracks, evidence of use such as wear on bottom and minor surface wear can be polished off by a professional)Please e-mail any questions or information that you may have.
