OSSIE CLARK FOR RADLEY VINTAGE DRESS Ossie Clark vintage clothing is rare, unique and highly collectible. His most famous designs are of course his vintage dresses which date mainly from the 1970s- this particular dress was purchased in 1975 and worn on my wedding day. He designed for Radley Boutique as well as combining with Celia Birtwell in producing stunning clothing such as moss crepe and chiffon printed dresses , coats , suits and blouses . His pieces were considered to be ‘ up there ’ with the likes of Mary Quant and Biba and in fact, has influenced many other designers such as Tom Ford and Yves Saint Laurent. This fine creation was worn as a wedding dress. However, with the popularity of vintage clothing it could be worn for any occasion now. The dress is a size 12 and the material is moss crepe. As they say, the devil is in the detail and this dress certainly has that with its deep V neckline and subtle gathering under the bust and at the top of the sleeves. It has 5 covered buttons on the bodices and 3 buttons to each sleeve. It ties under the bust to give a beautiful flattering shape.
