ITEM You are bidding on a vintage original still photograph as described in the item title. This double-weight matte 11x14" print is in good condition except for a few barely noticeable surface imperfections, none of which affect the image. This is not a restrike (modern print) or a copy print. This is a beautifully rendered original print made from a camera negative in the same period in which it was shot. We strive to represent the item as accurately as possible when scanning but can assume no liability for increased grain, contrast, or color shifts in the scan or in your monitor. HISTORY In August 1981, American Photographer magazine reported: "At the recent auction at Christie's East, the Gilman Paper Company paid a staggering $9,000 for a 1930 [sic] portrait of actor Ramon Navarro [sic] by Hollywood portraitist George Hurrell -- an auction record price for a portrait by a living photographer." This is another print of "The New Orpheus" made by Hurrell for Ramon Novarro in 1929. This print was used in the 1997 Harry N. Abrams book Hurrell's Hollywood Portraits.
