I'm pleased to offer for your bid this "Unusual" PAIR of CAST IRON Japanese PAGODA LANTERNS. Each lantern measures 7" tall X 9" in diameter, not including it's large wire hanger. These RUGGED outdoor lanterns are VERY HEAVY! The have spring loaded doors to access the inside and are made to accommodate "tea-lite" or similar size candles up to 2-1/4" in diameter X 4" tall. They're VERY VERSATILE! They have a tri-footed base & can sit flat on a table top or be suspended safely by their heavy guage wire hanger. Each features a large diameter "Pagoda Style" rooftop that serves to insulate & rain proof the lighted candles. These wide "rooftops" are decorated with embossed patterns of angular shaped "Bamboo" leaves. A similar pattern, in relief, decorates the sides and allows the candle light to produce dancing shadows & flickering illumination. The cast iron finish has surface rust creating a definite weatd patina from years of use. The hinges & spring action of the doors still works fine. T is a chip on the edge of one of the lantern's feet. This does not really effect it at all, and otherwise, BOTH are in VERY GOOD CONDITION for their age!
