PAIR JAPANESE AWAJI VASES WITH RELIEF DESIGN I spotted this pair of vases at the home of a long time antiques dealer friend and was fascinated by them. It's probaby not accurate but I describe these as being from the Japanese arts and crafts period. Perhaps the more accurate thing to say is Meiji. (If I'm wrong I know you'll tell me.) Each vase is about 8" high and about 3 1//2" in diameter. Marked Japan and Sanpei flag mark ABOUT Antiquemonger is curated by C. G. Powers, a Southern-Indiana based art and antiques firm which specializes in historic art, artists' estates, and estate art collections. Some of the items in our Ebay store are also displayed at our gallery within the Brown County Antique Mall, 3288 State Road 46 East, Nashville, Indiana 47448.
