Panasonic FM/AM Clock Radio Model RC-6001G reetings clock radio collectors and enthusiasts! Looking for a 70s Clock Radio – perhaps one that has flipping clock numbers? Well, check out this nice clean and working Panasonic FM/AM Flip-Number Clock Radio model RC-6001. The clock on this attractive set employs numbers that consist of split panels that flip each minute to indicate the new time. Alarm clock features include a choice of waking to “Auto” (radio), and “Alarm” (chirping sound); a 60-minute continuously adjustable “Sleep” timer. To the left of the clock display is a rotating drum that shows the Alarm Set (wake-up) time. To the right of the clock display is “barber-pole” indicator that rotates whenever the clock is running. Pretty neat! The clock dial is illuminated with an incandescent light for night viewing. The unit also includes a responsive FM/AM Radio with a 3” top-mounted speaker. The radio’s antennas consist of an internal loopstick for AM, and the power cord for FM. Panasonic is known for the longevity of their components, including their electrolytic capacitors, which they manufactured themselves. Cosmetically, this Clock Radio is in excellent condition, with a bit of fading to the cabinet’s cream color, and a few tiny dings, but no significant scratches, gouges, or other flaws. The unit has been cleaned and detailed inside and out. The tuner has been aligned to optimize performance. The radio plays great on both bands with good sensitivity and crisp and clean sound. All electronic components are original. The lamp in the clock required replacement. The clock runs smoothly and quietly, with the quaint sound of the numbers flipping each minute being the only sound you hear. The clock was run continuously for over 48 hours to make sure it kept perfect time. All alarm functions have been checked and deemed functional. Flip Number Clocks can only be found on radios from a unique era for technology, when Panasonic made radios that were special.
