VINTAGE PANASONIC MODEL TR-001 IC TELEVISION W/AC ADAPTOR You are bidding on a vintage portable Panasonic Model TR-001 integrated circuit television with AC adaptor. The screen measures 2" diagonally. It has a jack for an external antenna and an earphone on one side. The vertical and horizontal control knobs are located on one side, the volume-on-off, contrast, brightness and channel seletor knobs are on the other. The channel selector knob is continuous tuning. A channel selector switch is on the top for channels 2-6, 7-13 and 14-83 (UHF). It has a plug for an AC adaptor. T is a battery compartment in the back that appears to house two batteries although I am not ceratin what size or type. The TV is marked 5 V, 1.7 W. The antenna is retractable and folds back to the case. The TV turns on but does not pick up any channels (i.e., t is brightness but no picture). All of the knobs operate smoothly and seem to function. (You can see that they are altering the screen.) T are some minor scratches in the rear and bottom rear of the plastic portion of the case and one small ding/scratch on the left side in the aluminum panel. When turned on, you can hear sound and the volume control works. This also includes a Panasonic Model TY-196P(A) AC adaptor . This can either be used in the on position to power the television or can be used as a charger for the batteries (not included). While it does power the television, the red indicator light does not work. My friend's father was the distributor of Zenith electronics in the Washington-Baltimore area from the mid-40's through the late 70's. I discovered this set stored on a shelf in a closet while helping them clean out their house. It appears to have been used very minimally. I do not have the manuals, ear phone or other cords. I have tried to describe this as accurately as I know how. I am not sure of its age but suspect it is from the 70's. However, since I am not a dealer, expert or collector, please look at the photos to determine the condition for yourself. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a wonderful vintage television. Don't miss out!! If you would like more detailed photos or require more specific information, please email me with your request/questions.
Thanks for looking. Good luck!!
