Up for auction is a very rare and complete vintage Nativity set that dates from the 1950's. This beautiful Nativity set consists of 18 HUGE paper mache figures and a very nicely made Manger that accommodates and completes this lovely set. In one of the pictures with Mary Joseph and Baby Jesus, you can see how much smaller these three figures are in a 4" version. The figures include, Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus. Three Wise Men and one angel, and also a smaller angel that goes on top of the Manger. T is a donkey, a cow and a camel and also three sheep. T are also two shepherds and two peasants. The figures are 18 all together. Their height varies from 13" to 4.5". The two Wise men that are standing are 13" tall. Also the shepherd with the sheep on his shoulders is 13". The two peasants are 12" tall and Mary, Joseph and the pink kneeling angel are 10". The camel, donkey and cow are 11" long and the sheep is 4 ½". The Manger is 34" X 24" X 20" in height. All 18 figures are made of paper mache and they are hand painted. Their execution and workmanship is exquisite, and so is the detail on the faces! All figures are in very good to perfect condition . The only small imperfections are that the cow is missing a tiny area from its horn and the same with the donkey's ear. (Very hard to notice details) and also, the peasant that's kneeling holding a goat, the goat lost its ear and it was glued back on. Everything else is in perfect and pristine condition including the manger. The manger is illuminated with a big light bulb on the inside and it can be plugged in with a cord that's all t It is quite heavy and big, made into scale for this exact set of Nativity figures. The manger is very well made and looks wonderful. Please note that because of its massive size and weight I was tempted not to include the Manger in the sale. I changed my mind though because this is something that was created just to complete this Nativity set and I think the new owner would love to have such a unique and rare complete set. Because of the size and weight of this set, shipping will be quite costly, so please do take this into consideration before bidding. Also note that if the winner wishes not to have the Manger and only the figures, then shipping will cost only $40.00. This auction is for all 19 pieces though, this including the Manger, so as a complete set, Manger and 18 paper mache figures will cost $130.00 for shipping. If the winner is a local person, please feel free to pick it up and save on the shipping cost. Buyer pays for shipping and insurance. Thanks for watching and good luck!
