Classic deep green Parker Victory fountain pen History & Overview While Waterman's may have been the first company to create a fountain pen, Parker were the first company to actually sell one. The company, which is probably the best-known manufacturer of writing instruments around the world originally started with its headquarters in Janesville USA, before quickly branching out to Toronto, Canada and to the UK. - After WWII, Parker moved with the times, introducing new designs to old favourites, and bringing innovative and hugely popular pens into the market, including the Parker 51, which is probably the most popular fountain pen ever manufactured. - Today, the company is as prestigious as ever, backed by its history and it's high level of quality, Parker has become one of the most reliable pen companies ever. The Body The pen itself measures a total (capped) length of approx. 133mm (roughly 5 1/4 inches), and has a beautiful deep green (almost black) finish with gold clip and trim. The clip, unlike more conventional Parkers, does not have an arrowhead shape, but rather a tapered clip with the letters spelling "Parker" in descending order. The cap has two narrow bands towards the end. There is only very mild and natural wear to the clip, while the bands are free from any sign of tarnish.
