For auction is a wonderful vintage patchwork quilt both entirely hand-pieced and hand-quilted and sized at approximately 64" x 80". I consider this a variation of the tradional quilt pattern "Clay's Choice" done in small 4"diomonds that meet to form 4"four pointed stars. Many interesting cotton feedsack prints and plaids are utilized with unbleached cotton throughout this great vintage . The backing is a tiny print of "blueberries" or "huckleberries" in lavender berries, green berries, & green leaves on a creamy white background. A similar blueberry patterned feedsack fabric is noted to be repeatedly used in the diamonds and also lavender plaids. The binding is the backing turned over the top and finely hand stitched in place. Pale lavender colored thread is used for the quilting (stitches average 6-7/in) which is patterned in repeated parallel curves or arches. The cotton batting is considered of medium wt. (The overall condition of this quilt is very good without holes or damage with just several faint small discolorations or stains that you need to look carefully for to find.) This quilt launders easily and is very strong and sturdy for everyday usage. This lovely textile is among the many quilts of my own personal collection which I am now offering on eBay.
