VINTAGE PELIKAN 140 FOUNTAIN PEN ABSOLUTELY MINT CONDITION Green Striated 14kt F nib - Piston filling system 123mm (4 7/8') capped - Made in Germany 12 months warranty This is a beautiful Pelikan 140, in mint condition from the 1950s. It is almost amaizing that a 55 year old pen can be in such superb condition, I would guess it has had very little use. . There are no cracks, deep scratches or monograms, and when I examine it with a loupe there is no surface stress, it is immaculate. There is no brassing to the hardware, it is pristine. The 14 kt EF nib is remarkably smooth to write with and has some nice flex to give good line variation, and is it is suitable for left or right handers. The ink flow is even and not too wet. The rich green color is very striking, far different from the standard green that is mostly seen on Pelikans. The transaprency of the barrell is crystal clear. Please note these pictures are highly magnified. I try to restore my pens to their original condition and I painstakingly disassemble the pen and ultrasonically clean all the parts. Each part is examined and where necessary replaced. This pen is original, there are no replaced parts. I meticulously hand polish the pen to bring back its original lustre.
