This is a listing for a vintage Peruvian link bracelet. It's hallmarked for sterling on the back.
It's composed of four large curved links separated by a stamped figural link. Each of the panels is connected to the next with large round rings. It closes with a tongue in groove clasp that works perfectly for a total wearing length of 7 and 5/8th inches. The enameled panels curve (see photo) to conform to the arm. It's a very comfortable bracelet with a lot of movement that jangles when you wear it. It's 30 grams, so it isn't flimsy and the silver is very high gauge, very strong, so it won't bend or dent.
The enameling has worn with time to achieve a softened aged appearance. The panels are intricately decorated with a textured square in the middle that adds nice detail. There was a central figure at one time, enameled over the textured surface, that has worn off, probably because the panels are curved and the surface received more wear in that spot. It doesn't detract from the overall appearance because the wear was even, consistent, and not spotty. The borders are enameled in a bright red and turquoise colors with green accents, done in a very geometric pattern, much like antique Russian enameling. The top and bottom of each link has graduated steps, adding to the overall Aztec design. The figural links are all sterling, highly stamped with no enameling. They are beautiful accents. The enameled links are 1 and 1/8th inch square, so it's a fairly wide bracelet. The Aztec figures have a lot of detail and all of the silver has a nice polish and older patina that only comes with years of aging and careful wear.
