Vintage Peters and Reed Peasant Ware VaseDescription and Item InformationUp for sale is this vintage Peters and Reed Ohio art pottery vase. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This pot stands approximately 7 inches tall, and it has a maximum width of about 7 5/8 inches. Unpacked, it weighs about 3 1/4 pounds. This piece has a glossy green glaze. The rim is folded into an interesting shape; the exterior has rings and twisted, rope-like handles. This piece would be a fine addition to a craftsman bungalow decor, or to an American art pottery collection.IdentificationThis vintage piece is a beautiful example of Peters and Reed pottery, from their Peasant Ware line. This piece of vintage Ohio art pottery is unmarked. This shape (#523) is shown on page 97 of Sanford's Guide to Peters and Reed, The Zane Pottery Company by Martha and Steve Sanford.ConditionThis pot looks very good, with no cracks. It is clean and shiny. As shown, to the sharp edge of the rim are two tiny (1/16 inch) nicks and a 1/8 inch long, linear thin glaze area. There is light wear to the base. Several scattered, tiny glaze bubble indents are as made. Please review the photos, and ask any necessary questions prior to bidding or buying.TERMS OF SALE (the not fun but unfortunately necessary fine print)1. Payments must be received within three days of the end of the listing, unless prior arrangements have been made.3. Shipping and HandlingGood packaging is included; double-boxing is not included. Framed art will not be shipped unframed. The seller typically ships on Mondays and Thursdays, unless a holiday or special circumstance precludes it. If payment is via Paypal, the merchandise will be shipped on the seller's next shipping day after payment clears. The seller is not responsible for the transit time once the merchandise has been accepted by the shipping carrier.Economy shipping within the U.S. includes delivery to a physical address via an economy shipping method of the seller's choice. At the discretion of the seller, a faster shipping method may be utilized at no additional cost to the buyer. If the buyer prefers a different shipping method other than that chosen by the seller, or if delivery is to a post office box, additional shipping and handling costs may be required.
