A wonderful, large (14" high, base is 6" in diameter) bronze statue/figure of a Blackamoor bird seller! Very detailed, with very finely executed, crisp casting. This is fron the 'Petites Choses' collection, and it is a vintage piece -- not new. These were produced in the early 1980s. The piece is entirely hand-painted, and is mounted on a circular brass base. It features the chain rope detailing, and three wonderfully intricate birdcages -- each with 2 porcelain white birds. A very whimsical, lively piece -- no staid bronze statue, but one with action and charming accents. The original label is still affixed to the bottom. He is in excellent condition -- you can see the paint is intact, and t are no dents, etc. to the bronze. A great piece for your collection -- or an accent piece that will certainly become a conversation piece. And don't forget the holiday season -- it's not too early to gift shop! At 14" -- the piece has a real 'presence'. The package will be shipped via DHL, thus the very reasonable shipping quote.
