Vintage "PHI BETA KAPPA" Fraternity KEY - Columbia '89 Phi Beta Kappa was founded on December 5, 1776, at the College of William and Mary. Since then, Phi Beta Kappa has evolved to become the nation's leading advocate for the liberal arts and sciences at the undergraduate level. Phi Beta Kappa elects over 15,000 new members a year from 270 chapters across the United States. They support the ideals of the Society through academic, social, and community-based programs. I am offering in this auction the Society's distinctive emblem, a golden key. This is widely recognized as a symbol of academic achievement. I purchased this Fraternity Key in an Estate Sale and the condition is excellent. It is engraved on the back December 5, 1776, original owner's name "Willard V. King", Columbia and 89. The key measures 1 3/4" tall and 3/4" wide. T are no marks to indicate the maker or gold content. It has been tested and I guarantee it to be at least 10k gold. Best of Luck! Payment Credit Card Personal or company checks are accepted, but must clear the bank prior to shipment. All Payments are to be received within 10 days of the auction closing date. Shipping Buyer is responsible for shipping charges. All packages will ship via U.S. Priority Mail.
